Marcus Boutilier: Wing Clipping Time Again. Ovi HOT! Oshie back, Burky scratched

Though it’s tough as a Wings fan, I’m really looking forward to this game. Ovi is making history and could, with a steady output, match or eclipse Shanny in career goals. He’s 27 of the pace right now I believe. 656 career goals was something i wasn’t sure we’d see again a few years ago. I love what he brings and watching him win a cup was thrilling.

Larkin is coming into his own, and i do feel like our team stepped forward, but the negatives are obvious. Defense and consistency. Tonight is a good test and I hope it’s a good one

Outside of the fighting, Ovi and Shanny play similar games physically, though Ovi is more a truck and Shanny just nasty.
It’s a helluva lot of goals and it’ll be interesting as he passes 700.
Larkin is def a guy you gotta pay attention to. Also like the rookie Rasmussen. Saw him in Kelowna/TriCity playoffs last year. He was dominating.

I agree on similarities. Ovi has completely defied the trend of the NHL when goals were down. He’s just so far ahead of everyone who came in the league at the same time. Rasmussen is starting to find his game for us. He has so many tools, just needs to keep growing.

Hard to watch the Wings, but Ovi did not disappoint! Career goals now at 632, 8 off of Andreychuck. What impresses me about his scoring is the consistency. Just keeps clicking away. So much fun to watch
